Starting the 108V cordless lawnmower requires a series of safety checks and a specific start sequence. The mower will not operate unless the battery is fully charged, correctly inserted, and the safety key is in place.
This guide explains the correct start procedure, along with how to use the self-propel function for assisted mowing.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Safety and Power Checks
Before starting the mower, ensure the following:
- The battery is fully charged.
- Press the test button on the battery to check charge level.
- The battery is fully inserted and secured in place.
- A definitive click confirms correct installation.
- The safety key is fully inserted.
- You should hear a click from the micro switch when correctly fitted.
Step 2: Start the Lawnmower
Step 1: Power On
- Press the centre of the power ON/OFF button.
- Hold for approximately 2 seconds.
- The green LED will illuminate, indicating the mower is powered on.
Step 2: Engage Safety Controls
- Press and hold the safety lock button.
- While holding it, pull the motor switch bar towards the handle.
Step 3: Start Cutting
- The motor will begin running.
- The mower is now in operation.
Step 4: Stop the Mower
- Release the motor switch bar to stop the blade immediately.
Step 3: Self-Propel Function
The self-propel feature can be used with or without blade rotation.
Option A: Self-Propel Without Blade Rotation
- Turn the power switch to ON.
- Push the rear self-propel switch bar towards the handle.
- Hold to activate movement.
- The mower will move forward automatically.
- Release the bar to stop movement.
Option B: Self-Propel With Cutting
- Start the mower using the standard start procedure.
- Hold the front bail bar with one hand.
- Engage the rear drive bar.
- The mower will cut and move forward simultaneously.
Adjusting Self-Propel Speed
- Use the speed adjustment lever.
- Push forwards or backwards to increase or decrease speed.
- The lever can be set at any position for variable control.
