Before you begin

Before installing the boundary wire and charging station, make sure you have:

  • A suitable flat area of lawn for the charging station
  • Enough boundary wire to cover your mowing area
  • The fixing pegs supplied with your mower
  • Access to a power socket for the charging station

Before securing anything permanently, plan the layout of your garden and check the position of the charging station.

Steps

1. Choose the charging station location

The charging station should be positioned carefully to allow the robot mower to leave and return correctly.

Make sure the charging station:

  • Is placed on flat, level ground
  • Is positioned near the edge of the lawn
  • Has a clear area around it with no obstacles
  • Allows the boundary wire to connect easily

The robot mower may not dock correctly if the charging station is installed incorrectly.

Do not secure the charging station permanently until the boundary wire has been installed underneath it.



2. Install the boundary wire

Before installing the wire, plan where the mowing area boundary will be.

The boundary wire should:

  • Be positioned approximately 40cm from the edge of the lawn
  • Create a clear mowing area for the robot mower
  • Be secured using the supplied fixing pegs

Install the wire around the perimeter of your lawn, ensuring it sits flat against the ground.


3. Connect the boundary wire to the charging station

The boundary wire connects to two points on the back of the charging station.

Front section of boundary wire

The wire approaching the charging station from the front should:

  1. Run underneath the charging station.
  2. Continue in a straight line towards the rear of the station.
  3. Connect to the terminal marked “F”.

To connect the wire:

  • Strip approximately 10-15mm of insulation from the wire.
  • Twist the exposed wire strands together.
  • Insert the wire into the connector.

Return section of boundary wire

The other end of the boundary wire should:

  1. Loop around the mowing area.
  2. Return to the charging station.
  3. Connect to the terminal marked “B”.

Repeat the same process to expose enough wire for the connector if required.


4. Check the boundary wire layout

Before securing the installation, check the following:

  • There should be at least 2 metres of straight boundary wire in front of the charging station.
  • Avoid sharp corners or angles less than 120°.
  • The total boundary wire length must not exceed 300 metres.
  • Any spare wire should be placed outside the mowing area and underneath the charging station.

Do not coil excess wire, as this may affect the signal.


5. Secure the charging station

Once the boundary wire has been correctly positioned:

  1. Place the charging station in its final position.
  2. Secure it using the four supplied fixing pegs.
  3. Connect the charging station to the mains power supply.

The charging station LED will indicate the boundary wire status:

  • S1 or S2 LED illuminated: Installation is working correctly.
  • LED flashing: The boundary wire may be broken, disconnected, or incorrectly installed.
